Wayne is the “downright lovable Dandini” in Cinderella

Wayne Sleep in Cinderella

Wayne Sleep stars in Cinderella this Christmas at the New Wimbledon Theatre till January 11 2015.

The show has earned 4 stars from The Times: “It may be Linda “Dallas” Gray who’s grabbing the headlines, but it’s the so-called “joke machine” Tim Vine as Buttons who drives this pacey, eye-poppingly colourful panto. Directed by Ian Talbot, the entire production is jolly good fun and that includes Matthew Kelly and Matthew Rixon’s father-and-son double act as the deliciously nasty Ugly Sisters as well as Wayne Sleep’s downright lovable turn (better make that “turns”) as a dance-teaching Dandini.”

Tickets are selling fast from AGT Tickets.

Wayne Sleep in Channel 4's Big Ballet

Wayne Sleep starred in Channel 4′s Big Ballet in February 2014.

Big Ballet followed a troupe of plus-size amateur dancers as they attempted to realise their dream of dancing Swan Lake. Rebellious dance legend Wayne Sleep was the shortest dancer ever to make his debut on the Royal Ballet stage and in Big Ballet, he aimed to unlock the world of ballet for a wider audience and break one of the biggest taboos in ballet: size.

Under the watchful eye of Wayne and prima ballerina Monica Loughman, the dancers attempted to do what some experts said was impossible.

Big Ballet

Channel 4 has commissioned Big Ballet, a three part series following a troupe of plus-size amateurs as they attempt to realise their ambition to perform scenes from Swan Lake.

They’re mentored by Wayne and ballet dancer Monica Loughman. Wayne confounded his critics who told him he was too short to make it and went on to become one of the UK’s greatest ever dancers. Now, he wants to unlock the world of ballet for a wider audience and break one of the biggest taboos in the ballet world: weight.

Training will take place at Northern Ballet. Watch this space for more news!
