The Virgin Soldiers 1968
Wayne first acting part was Sinclair, the cameo comedy role of the short gay soldier in the film of the book by Leslie Thomas. Fellow actors included Hywell Bennett, Nigel Davenport and Lynn Redgrave.
John Dexter asked Wayne to audition after seeing him play Saturday’s Child in Jazz Calendar.
